Our teachers and specialists make sure all students feel welcomed and safe by utilizing a variety of teaching techniques in order to provide our students with culturally responsive and trauma-sensitive experiences, and we further address the achievement gap through a team-focused approach.
Collaboration with Specialist
Our Literacy and Math coaches meet with teachers once a month to discuss intervention plans for students. Similarly, our classroom teachers meet with our multilingual and special education teachers weekly to collaborate on best practices for supporting students who have special education needs and/or are multilingual.
Pupil Service Team
We have a pupil service team that consists of school counselors, a social worker, and a school psychologist that supports students and families who are in need of assistance for a variety of concerns, including difficulty with attendance, participation, or mental health. When the team meets, we create plans and/or schedule meetings with student families.
Response to Intervention
RtI stands for Response to Intervention. It is a multi-tier approach to the early identification and support of students with learning needs. All students are screened to determine each student’s learning rate. Students who are determined to need extra support will work with a teacher in either reading or math. Attendance of regular education classes will be required to receive this extra support.
I could not be happier for making the move from a different online platform to Fox Valley Virtual almost 3 years ago. It has been such a blessing and I have seen how much my girls have grown academically and socially. They absolutely love their teachers, one of my children has an IEP, and I have been very pleased with how Fox Valley Virtual helps students with IEP and the teachers that work in that program.
