A New Way of Learning

• Morning Meeting:
  Our day begins with a live, synchronous meeting at 8:45 AM. This session kicks off the day—we always open with a fun question, a show-and-tell segment, or light socializing to foster a sense of community and connection among students. First stop after a warm welcome? Number Corner for skill-building activities.
• Live Learning Sessions:
  In our live learning sessions, students learn, practice and play. In math/number corner sessions, students practice specific foundational skills that will help them as they build on their math skills each year. These sessions may involve review, preparation, or collaborative problem-solving activities. Through breakroom rooms, teachers can dynamically pair students to ensure every group is learning at the pace that helps them succeed.
• Independent Learning:
  All reading and writing time is flexible, so students and families can choose what works best for their personal learning style and schedule. Flexible learning offers students the choice of independent learning activities tailored to their pace and interests. With access to videos, activities, and projects, students can explore various projects while receiving personalized support through 1:1 meetings with teachers.
• Advanced Learning
  At Fox Valley Virtual, we understand that every student learns differently. For those seeking additional challenge, small group sessions provide opportunities for personalized enrichment, ensuring that each student is appropriately challenged and supported in their academic growth.

Preparation for Middle School

• As students transition to higher grade levels, we empower them to take greater responsibility for their learning journey. Through collaborative activities and peer interactions, 5th-grade students receive valuable preparation for the collaborative learning and increased academic rigor of middle school.
